Counseling

Harbour Towne Health recognizes that your emotional health is just as important as your physical health, and that there is a strong connection between mental and physical health. Recognizing the importance of attending to one's emotional health and stability, HTH offers Behavioral Health therapy services to help you live your life to the fullest.

Our licensed clinicians provide psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults using individual, group, couple, and family modalities. We work to empower people to reach their life goals and are skilled in treating trauma and loss, depression, anxiety, anger management, behavior problems, stress, attention deficit, and parenting challenges. Psychiatry is available to those active in therapy to evaluate if medications might be helpful to a person's treatment and to monitor its effectiveness.

Our approach focuses on identifying and fostering individual and family strengths to aid in improving health and functioning. We embrace a holistic model of care partnering with primary care, psychiatry, and community resources to promote health, resilience, and recovery.

What to Expect:

Whether you are an individual or family seeking services, the psychotherapy process begins with an initial assessment. This usually takes a few appointments and focuses not only on what stressors brought you here, but also is a chance for us to get to know you as a whole person. This assessment includes your current symptoms and problems, your background, including both past challenges and strengths. The assessment process takes place during the first few appointments; as a result, you and your therapist will then develop a plan of care identifying goals for therapy. Therapy can be short or long-term depending on your individual needs.

Throughout the assessment and therapy process, your therapist will provide a safe, confidential environment to help you work well together. All of our therapists are either Licensed Clinical Social Workers or a Limited Licensed Psychologist.

Individual and Couples Therapy for Adults:

In individual psychotherapy, you will meet with a therapist on a regular basis for help with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, anger and stress. The therapist will collaborate with you to help you identify your strengths and how you can use them to make changes in your life that can help your mood, daily functioning, relationships, and overall well-being. We help couples work with relational challenges to improve, build, and maintain strong and healthy relationships through understanding, respect and empowerment.

Therapy for Children, Adolescents, and Families:

In psychotherapy, the child and family meet with a therapist for help with a variety of issues including family problems, behavioral problems, trauma, loss, attention deficit, anger, anxiety and depression. Therapy can help improve a child's functioning at home and school and also enhance the overall family environment. When working with children, therapists often use play therapy to help them cope with emotions and learn new skills. Our therapist value the role of family and work closely with parents or caregivers to help address the child's needs.
